We are pleased to present our third sector leadership report 2011 which we have produced in conjunction with ACEVO.

In the survey we set out to identify what is good practice and if the sector was ready to meet future challenges. What we found are some strong positive messages from the almost 500 responses we received.  The survey supports the idea that there is wide adherence to good governance practices and that standards have moved forward during the last decade compared with analysis conducted over that period. However, despite the continued improvement in leadership standards there is enough evidence to suggest that there is a need for structural change and for leadership capacity building.

We hope that this report provides helpful insight as well as the tools to support the sector as it prepares itself for potentially difficult times ahead.
