Difficult times can bring about some great opportunities, as Brasserie Bar Co Chief Executive Mark Derry knows. In 2011 his company, seized the chance to almost double in size when a competitor hit trouble.
Brasserie Bar Co acquired eight London Chez Gerard sites from the administrators of Paramount Restaurants to add to its nine existing Brasserie Blanc sites mostly in country town locations such as Oxford and Cheltenham, plus two Brasserie White pubs in Teddington and Weybridge. The deal will double the group’s turnover, bringing it to £35m.
