Jim has over twenty five years experience of the charity, education and public sectors both within the profession and within charity management and governance. Jim has acted as strategic advisor to organisations including the Learning and Skills Development Agency, the Basic Skills Agency and Henley Management College.
Jim has been instrumental in the design and roll-out of Baker Tilly’s risk and strategic management services for charity, education and public sector clients, as well as of its risk-based due diligence and merger advisory services. He leads both the Transform team and Baker Tilly’s support for colleges needing to change their approach to the funding of capital projects in the aftermath of the Foster report.

Stephanie is a full time specialist in learning and skills sector issues, consultancy, audit and compliance, risk management and governance and has contributed greatly to the development of financial policies for the Learning and Skills sector. She is a regular commentator on sector issues, running our annual seminar series and speaking at other sector events.
Stephanie is a member of the Cipfa F&HE panel, the LSC funding audit group, internal audit group and accounting policies group. She actively participates in other formal and informal debates and forums with the LSC.

Chris Waterman is the executive director of E-strategix, a change management consultancy working principally in the public and third sectors. For the past fifteen years he has been involved in many key national policy groups dealing with education and children’s services, and is closely involved in the development of children’s services policy, writing and speaking on Bills and Acts of Parliament.
Chris is the author of the Plain Guide to the Children Act 2004 and Motivation, Agency and Social Work Practices (January 2008). He is co-editor of Education Journal and is editor of Children’s Services Weekly (to be launched in March 2009).
In 2007 he launched Investors in Families, a national accreditation scheme for schools and other settings (www.investorsinfamilies.org.uk) and more recently has established Diagram (www.diagram.org.uk).

Andrew is an Education Consultant with Andrew Thomson Consulting. He has recently linked with Baker Tilly as an associate consultant specialising in change management and improving performance – particularly focussing on human behaviour, motivation and creating excellence in the service sector.
Following experience as a principal of two FE colleges, Andrew served as Chief Executive of the Learning and Skills Development Agency (LSDA), which he led through its split into the Quality Improvement Agency (QIA) and the Learning and Skills Network in 2006.
Andrew has a broad and deep understanding of the processes and policies that drive the FE system, the curriculum, and of course the routes to sustained improvements.
