IT assurance report
Our client had introduced a new IT system and centralised its financial operations from various locations to a central head office. The Finance Director was concerned that changes in operational procedures and the new IT system left the company exposed to potential accounting control and business continuity problems.
We delivered an IT assurance report. In addition to examining the transfer of data from the old system to the new system, the report provided a thorough review of other IT issues such as physical and software security, disaster recovery and other issues.
Our client was surprised by some of the findings regarding security issues and became aware of the higher risks of a fully centralised system. As a result they are implementing a new disaster recovery plan and reconsidering their system security. They also gained assurance that there were no major problems in the transfer of data from the old system to the new system.
