Help maximise efficiency of accounts production process

London Borough of Bromley is a large organisation with a turnover of over £500m. It is obliged to follow the special disclosure requirements for local authority accounts and manage changes to these requirements which occur most years.

Baker Tilly's Audit team worked with Bromley to help them maximise the efficiency of their accounts production process and aid them in handling issues such as:
  • the significant financial reporting changes required by the 2006 local authority SORP
  • the complexities involved in consolidating financial data from three large service directorates and over 50 schools.
We assisted Bromley's finance department by:
  • briefing them on the requirements of the new SORP months in advance of the closedown process
  • responding to ad-hoc financial reporting queries during the production of the draft accounts
  • producing a working paper requirement list for Bromley detailing all of the supporting information that would be required during the audit.

"Once again many thanks for being so responsive and helpful regarding clarification of issues for the closing of accounts. The support was first class and is a credit to yourselves and Baker Tilly."
Peter Turner, Deputy Director of Finance, London Borough of Bromley
