Welcome to Baker Tilly’s Budget coverage 2010
As our Dickensian theme suggests, the Treasury could reasonably be described as a bleak house as the Chancellor gets to grips with restoring public finances and persuading the public that prudence hasn’t left for good.
This is to be an election Budget but not as we know it. The immediate outlook for the nation’s public finances appears bleak, the electorate know that and can hardly expect this to be a giveaway budget.
